I wouldn’t recommend starting a business months before the deepest recession since the Great Depression, but for us it was like The Rolling Stones’ song says, “You can’t always get what you want... but you always get what you need.” Once you’ve made the decision and invested the capital, it’s sink or swim, do or die. Nothing sharpens your instincts and skills faster and nothing makes you work harder than the prospect of your own demise.

It’s been almost two years since I started TerraSur and although the time since has often been tough, it’s also been the best time of my professional life. It’s true that you don’t know much of anything until you do it yourself and you don’t really know people until you walk through fire with them. To start and run a business, watch it crawl, walk and run, stumble and get up and keep going are all things you do with other people.

I’ve been lucky to be working here and in Argentina with people I respect and admire and who inspire me to work harder and think smarter.

Since TerraSur was created, we have met several of our founding goals.

But we are not there yet, not even close. We continue to work hard to meet your highest expectations and will not rest until you are completely satisfied. But then again, can we ever be completely satisfied? Isn’t that the curse and joy of running a business? You can never feel too secure in what you’ve accomplished. And you always have to be prepared to recreate yourself, find a new angle, try a new approach, dump an obsolete model, change course.

What I will never change is my mission: to offer our clients a high quality and reliable, bold and exciting, profitable line of furniture.

Thank you for your business and your support!
